Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that he will rise to the chairmanship in the upcoming party convention.
Speaking to mediapersons at Biratnagar Airport on Thursday, Koirala said that since he was the closest rival who was defeated in the previous convention, he will automatically claim the chairmanship.
He said that he has traveled all over the country and is meeting leaders and activists and insisted that the candidacy should not be accepted otherwise.
Koirala said that there is an equation between the big parties to stabilize the country and it should be made successful. Koirala also mentioned that the constitution should be reformed for political stability and the electoral system should be amended. Koirala informed that there is a possibility that the Congress will participate within a week as the Koshi state government is being discussed at the centre.
