Itahari. 65-year-old Ram Prasad Ghimire, who was injured after hitting a cyclist in Khanar, Itahari sub-metropolitan city of Sunsari, died on Wednesday night.
In the accident that happened in front of the gate of Reliance located in Itahari-12, the cyclist Ghimire was hit by the car number P1-01-001C 7655, which was coming from Biratnagar towards Itahari. After the collision, the car driver Purna Bahadur Karki, a resident of Itahari, took the injured Ghimire to the Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar.
Ghimireka died shortly after being taken to the hospital. After the incident, the car driver went to Karki saying that he would come. According to the Itahari police, the search operation has been intensified after the car driver who escaped after admitting the patient to the hospital did not come into contact with Karki. Eyewitnesses have said that Ghimire was hit by a car while crossing the road from the factory and the car was speeding.
